“Come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.” (Psalm 95:1-2)
These verses are an invitation to come to the “Rock of our Salvation” full of joy and thanksgiving. We are to come and praise the Lord. There are many reasons to come and do this, look what this Psalm says. For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods. “Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care” (Psalm 95:3, 6-7).
Our God is great, He is our maker and protector, these thoughts should make us want to accept this invitation and come to the Lord in joy and thanksgiving. This year has been a challenge, and many are discouraged and downhearted. But when we think about all the Lord has done for us, it should bring us joy. He is our” Rock of Salvation”, our maker and protector. He is our God, our Great God.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing through the experience of your faith that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope andoverflow with confidence in His promises” (Romans 15:13).
Right now, think about all the Lord has done for you and be joyful and thankful. Let us be people of praise, even in difficult times. God is great and cares for you. That should bring us joy and cause us to be thankful.
Question: What do you know about our Great God that will cause you to be joyful and thankful? Is He the Rock of your Salvation? Have you thanked Him today for being your maker and protector?
Challenge: Take time this week and count all the good things that our Great God has done for you.
Prayer: Thank You Lord for all You do for me each day. Help me to be full of joy and thanksgiving. You are a great God and worthy of all our praise.
